OCRINT launched a community-based competition grant, where three members could submit project proposals to apply for up to a maximum of $15,000 to support a 1-year community-based project aligned with the goals of the Ontario CRISM Node. The criteria used to determine approval for funding included:


  1. The likelihood that the project described in the application would create and disseminate useful resources and/or activities within the substance use field provincially.
  2. The likelihood that the project described in the application would facilitate communication and collaboration among substance use researchers, service providers, people with lived and living experience, community organizations, and policy makers provincially.
  3. The likelihood that the project described in the application would lead to further evidence-based products and/or resources for Ontario.
  4. The likelihood that the project described in the application would lead to further funding applications from OCRINT members.
  5. The extent to which the project described in the application was timely, impactful, and related to substance misuse in Ontario.
